Capabilities - Typical Searches
The following descriptions of typical searches illustrate the scope and
methodology of our services for client companies. Actual company names and
locations are never revealed to maintain complete confidentiality.
- Director of Security
(chemical manufacturer)
- Company needed a replacement for incumbent who
had not grown with complexities of the position and the environment.
We identified 14 people in comparable positions with chemical industry firms
and obtained profiles or resumes from 6 of them. After further
discussion with candidates, we presented 4 resumes/profiles to the company,
but recommended focusing on two prime candidates. After company
executives met with the top candidate, we assisted negotiating compensation
and relocation issues. The new Director began work 7 weeks after the search
began.
-
- VP - Business Development
(security consulting and services firm)
- New position required to spur development of products and
services which would greatly expand the market and double company revenue.
We searched nationally to find candidates qualified as well-regarded experts
in the targeted markets, identifying 7 potential candidates. All were
interviewed in depth to determine the three best qualified. One candidate's
outstanding personal and professional qualities marked him as the best by
far. Our involvement in negotiations kept the candidate engaged and highly
motivated throughout the process.
-
- Headquarters Security Manager
(electronic components manufacturer)
- New position needed when company moved offices and discovered
vulnerabilities to penetration by outsiders. Security Director
recognized the need for dedicated on-site manager to develop new physical
access and engineering data control policies, and monitor adherence to new
controls. We targeted professional security managers in 12 corporate
headquarters buildings within 20 miles of the new building and obtained
resumes of six candidates. Four candidates interviewed for the
position and the new Manager was hired three weeks after the search began.
-
- Director of Continuity Planning
(consumer
products distributor)
- Reporting to corporate Director of Security, the new position would
develop plans, policies, and physical assets to ensure timely recovery of
business capabilities following natural or man-caused physical disruptions
at any company location. We quickly contacted members of professional
security organizations to help identify qualified consultants and executives
who might be approachable. Our contacts led to phone interviews with
five highly-qualified specialists. Three candidates were referred to
the company and an offer was extended to the best candidate within four
weeks of the beginning of our search.
